Braves,
We had some strong races on Friday, with our girls team
finishing 4th in 5A and our guys were 3rd in 5A. In
general I thought we performed very well. We left it all out there and got
better. I was very impressed with our kids who were evacuated, or nearly
evacuated, and the fact that they chose to come and race when they would have
been more than justified staying with their families. We are all a part of something
larger than ourselves. I hope that you know as teammates that you play an
important role in the lives of your teammates.
Labor Day – we will not be holding an official practice
tomorrow. However, I recommend everyone getting out and running. If you are in
need of ideas, I would suggest a 50 minute run with a 15 tempo in the middle.
We do not have a race on Wednesday this week. Our only race
is Friday at the Murray invitational. Please go to our website https://bravesxc.blogspot.com/p/2019-schedule.html
to see the schedule and to find a link with more information and Murray.

There were many great performances. I was particularly
impressed with Hannah’s race. She had a breakout race and it looked to me like the
payoff of a lot of tough workouts over the past 3 months. I thought she was due
for a breakout performance, and she made a huge jump. She wasn’t the only one,
or course, but she was a good example of how improvement comes from hard work.
If you have questions about this week please let me know. If
you are interested in hosting a team dinner please email Caitlin at cpjacobson19@gmail.com
Thanks,
Coach Jacobson
